It is with a sad heart that I report that the GREATEST FEMALE SINGER of all time has passed away. Sorry folks, that's right, Whitney Houston died on Saturday, Feb 12, 2012. She was found floating face down in the bathtub of her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. She just 48yrs old. Whitney was scheduled to attend the annual Clive Davis Grammy party at the Beverly Hilton. And she was planning on attending the Grammys the following day, Feb 13, 2012 at the Staples Center. Apparently, her daughter Bobbi Kristina was out on errands and when she returned to the room in the hotel, she was met by an LAPD officer. She got into a screaming match with him, because he was not allowing any civilians access to the room because it was now a crime scene. The next day, Bobbi Kristina was taken to Cedars Sinai Hospital for stress and anxiety; she was released later that same day.
The reason this is so shocking to me, is because Whitney was making another comeback. Not singing of course, because clearly her voice is not what it was back in 1985. But she was making an acting comeback. She just completed a remake of Sparkle with the fabulous Jordin Sparks. And there were 2 new songs on the soundtrack from Whitney. So things were looking up, inspite of all the rumors that she was now broke. LAPD hasn't released much info on the death, just to say that she was found in the tub by her hairdresser and there were prescription sleeping pills in the bathroom with her.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Cissy, Bobbi Kristina, and the rest of the Houston Family in this terrible time of loss. Thanks for all of the great songs, Whitney, RIP. I will ALWAYS Love your first 6 cds for the rest of my life.
