Ingredients
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1 (5-ounce) bottle hot sauce
- 3 pounds chicken wings
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- DIRECTIONS:
- 1. In a sauce pan, melt the butter and add in everything but the sugar.
- 2. Once the sauce/marinade is done, pour it into the crock pot add in the cleaned and rinsed wings. Stir the wings to coat each one very well in the marinade.
- 3. Turn on your crock pot to high, cover and cook wings for 4 hrs.
- 4. 15 mins before the wings are done, preheat oven to 400 degrees, get 2 sheet pans out and once the wings are cooked, remove with tongs and place onto the sheet pans.
- 5. Bake the wings in the oven for about for 20 mins to crisp them up..
- 6. While the wings are baking in the oven, take the sauce from the crock pot and return it to the pan that you melted the butter in, add in the sugar and bring it to a boil. Watch it very carefully. Reduce the heat to low and just let it simmer for about 10 mins until the sauce thickens. Once the wings are done, take a brush and brush the wings generously with the thick sauce. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
