US Supreme Court Overturns Federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA): Gay Marriage Legal in California

Yeah!!! This has been a long time coming!!! The US Supreme court has overturned the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act that President Clinton signed into law. Federal employees can now share benefits with their same sex partners just like married couples can. Yeah! The court also ruled that the 9th Circuit had the right to overturn Prop 8 in Calif. Stating that the proponents of Prop 8 had no standing to fight the 9th Circuit's decision. "Standing" is a legal term that means having the right. For example, two brothers go to the Ice Creamery and both have a hot fudge sundae, but brother A gets sick. However, brother b sues the Ice Creamery. His case gets thrown out because he doesn't have the right to sue the store because he was not the person who got sick. He has no standing. Don't go down to City Hall yet folks. The Supreme Court ruling usually doesn't become final for 25 days and the lower court must lift it's stay. However, California Attorney General Kamala Harris, has requested that the 9th Circuit lift the stay as soon as possible. Yeah! So FUCK ALL OF YOU BIGOTS that passed Prop 8! I saw this moron on the noon news who was talking all of this smack that the children of California are the real losers and now they can aspire to marrying same sex partners. What the FUCK are you talking about? Children are NOT going to turn gay if their parents are gay or if their neighbors are a married gay couple. That's NOT how it works, you MORON! A gay child is now going to know that when he or she gets older, he/she will be able to marry the person he/she loves. YEAH!!! That is just so awesome! Thank You US Supreme Court!!!
