Joey Chestnuts aka Jaws WINS Coney Island Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest

Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest held at Coney Island New York was won by Joey Chestnuts aka Jaws by scarfing down 69 hot dogs and buns. (A personal BEST for Joey, his old record was 68.) Joey won the men's competition and the female winner was Sonya Thomas, a 100 lb dynamo who barely took the win with just 37 hot dogs and buns. Sonya 45, aka "the Black Widow", also won last year with 45 dogs and buns. Last year was the first time that women competed separately from men. Joey is a 7 time winner who set the record last year with 68 in 10 mins. Joey wins $10,000.00 and a mustard yellow belt. Good job Joey!!! Mayor Bloomberg was at the event which is surprising because he is such an advocate for healthy eating. And this contest is definitely NOT healthy eating. hahahahaha
