Wow! This is just so tragic. A 16 yr old pre-op Tranny was murdered in the streets of Jamaica this week. Dwayne Jones just wanted to be accepted for who he was. A woman trapped in a man's body, so he dressed up in his best party clothes and went to a neighborhood party dressed in drag. Now, I didn't know this and it is hell of shocking, but Jamaica is very anti-gay! Some people think it is this way because slaves were humiliated, raped and tortured anally back in the day by the slave owners or overseers. Nah, I just think they like like to keep it on the DL like the Catholics and Muslims. Anyway, what Dwayne's 2 biggest mistakes were, that he told a girl he knew from church that he was going to this party in drag. And 2nd, he didn't keep a low profile at the party. Dwayne loved to dance and he was very good at it. He wanted to like Lady GaGa one day and become a famous singer and dancer. So after Dwayne arrived at the party and made a spectacle of himself dancing. The girl he knew from church pointed him out to some of her male friends who were none too happy that there was a drag queen at the party. They surrounded him and started taunting him. "Are you a man or a woman?" One of them held a flash light to Dwayne's sneakers and said, "no woman can have feet so big". Next thing you knew, they attacked poor Dwayne, kicking, punching and stabbing him. Then someone shot him. And it was over. That poor misunderstood 16yr old who had been kicked out of his house by his dad because he was so effeminate, lay dead in the dirty streets of Jamaica. This is a real tragedy and it could have all been avoided. Dwayne should never have gone to that party in the first place. Look, I am all for being who you are, but you cannot rub your lifestyle in people's faces like that. Jamaica, according to this article I read is extremely homophobic and many gays have been attacked by mobs and beaten. And at least 2 gay activists have been killed. There are a lot of people who like to live dangerously and always say, "I'm not gonna let other people dictate to me how I live" or "I'm not gonna let circumstance dictate to me where I go or how I live my life". For example, a few years ago, a Texas couple wanted to go see this particular church that is partially submerged in one of the border towns near the Texas /Mexican border. But there had been trouble there, the spring before this couple wanted to visit, I believe they wanted to go there like late summer or early fall. Anyway, they get on their jet skis and ride over. Everything went fine at first, they took some pictures, and did some exploring. But then when they tried to leave, 2 boats show up full of men with automatic weapons. The church is located right smack dib in Zeta Cartel Territory. The boats are filled with Zeta Cartel members and they are NOT happy to see this couple. They start shooting at the couple and they take off on their jet skis going as fast as possible. Unfortunately, the husband is hit in the head and killed. The wife tries to pull his body up onto her jet ski but he is too heavy for her so she leaves him. Luckily for her, she makes it back to the USA without being harmed. She is now a widow and they never recover her husband's body. A Mexican police detective is later murdered and his head is dropped off at the police station after he talks to the Zetas about turning over the dead American's body. I bet she regrets going there now, it cost 2 men their lives. You have to be smart about the things you do. Just because you are grown and have means to go somewhere, be smart about where you go and what you do. Is losing your life really worth going into a drug cartel territory just to take pictures? Is dressing in drag and going to a straight party really worth your life? I think not. I think dressing in drag and going to a gay club or a gay party is far more fun. Gays really know how to party and we play better music!!!
Knowing what I know now about Jamaica, I would NEVER go there.Sure, I love the beach and I hear the resorts there are amazing. But it is not worth the risk. I'll just go back to Hawaii, the next time I am craving a beach vacation. hahahaha
Rest in Peach Dwayne, or "Gully Queen" as he was affectionately known. You had a tragic life and and even more tragic death, you certainly didn't deserve either. So sad! No one has been arrested for Dwayne's murder. And no witnesses have come forward, either. And probably never will.
