Okay this is such a tragedy! But it all could have been avoided!!! A 22 yr old American woman was riding in the passenger seat of a car that was driving through Lion Park in South Africa when a lion jumped through the open window and mauled her to death. This could have been avoided had the woman had her window closed! This is just another in a string of incidents at this park. And each time it has been a car incident its because the occupants have had their windows down. The park advises everyone to keep their windows closed. Maybe the park shouldn't allow people to drive personal or rental cars through the park. They should provide vehicles that have bars on the windows or have windows that are locked in the close position. Another incident involved a native boy who was attacked by a cheetah , while riding his bike through the park. Again, that could have been avoided if he had not been riding his bike through the park.
The park has more than 85 lions, including rare white lions, and a variety of other animals, including giraffes and ostriches.
According to its website, Lion Park guarantees "super close-up animal views" but it does order visitors to keep their car windows shut. And I think they should keep their doors locked too, I have seen video of lions opening car doors with their mouths, so it is dangerous to have an unlocked car door too.
