Wow, are you serious! Hasn't anyone learned from other people's mistakes? Apparently NOT! Actor John Stamos was pulled over on Beverly Drive last night after several calls to the police dept about a car that was driving erratically. Stamos was in the vehicle alone and was identified by his ID. At first the police thought he was having some sort of a medical emergency so they took him to the hospital where it was discovered that he was under the influence. He was then arrested, issued a citation and released to the care of the hospital. Stamos is scheduled to appear in court to answer to the charges on Sept 11th. Damn, I wonder why that is so far in the future?
Why do celebrities continue to drink and drive, when they can afford to take a cab or use a car service? You would think that they would learn from that terrible accident that Lane Garrison had after he had been out drinking and driving and crashed his car killing his 17 yr old passenger. Lane was convicted and spent 3 yrs in prison. Lane was a regular on Fox's Prison Break, back in 2005.
I saw a news story where there is a device that was just created that monitors your blood alcohol when you start the car and while you are driving. If the device determines that your blood alcohol is over the 0.8 the car will either not start or it will turn off. According to the news segment, this device is going to be installed on vehicles owned by people who already have one DUI on their record specifically and possibly on all new vehicles. I think it should be standard on ALL new vehicles period. Because there are too many stupid people out there who drink and drive. Lately up here in Sacramento, we've had like 5 wrong way drivers on the freeway and they've killed like about 20 people total and every single one of the wrong way drivers was either drunk or high on drugs or both. One of them, was a Latin guy who was driving his truck the wrong way and wiped out 3 members of the same family, the mom, and her 2 teen aged daughters. So sad!!!! And it all could have been avoided if that guy had this device on his truck. Rest in peace you poor victims. So sad!!!! Oh yes, the wrong way driver was killed too, but that was his own stupid fault. I don't feel sorry for him. Yeah, I said it. These 4 people would be alive today had that guy not gotten so drunk that he was driving the wrong way on the freeway crashing into them head on and killing them all, himself included.
