Have you heard of Bell California?

I hadn't either. Well here is the scoop on that tiny little town. It is a tiny town with a population of only 40,000, located in Los Angeles County. However, the City Council , Police Chief and City Manager are nothing but a bunch of crooks! They have been fleecing the City of Bell for some time now. First of all, the home owners in the City of Bell are paying consistently higher property taxes. Something like 40% more than their Los Angeles City counterparts. And what is the City Council members and City Manager doing with those extra taxes? Hold on, and I'll tell you. They've been paying themselves SKY HIGH SALARIES! The City Manager was making almost $800,000.00 usd a year. That's almost twice what the President of the United States makes. Is that fair? I dont think so. And the Police Chief was making almost $400,000.00/year. That's almost $10,000.00 for each person who resides in the city. And all but one of the City Councilmen were making over $100,000.00/year for their PART-TIME employment as councilmen. WOW! I think I am definitely living in the wrong city and working the wrong job. Where do I sign up for this gig? hahahahahaha Well, suffice it to say, after the news media got wind of these sky high salaries, and the people of Bell starting protesting. The City Manager, Assistant City Manager, Police Chief and some of the City Councilmen have all resigned. But the corruption doesn't stop there. Some of these same people are now entitled to extremely high pensions! What!?! I know, it just never ends does it? Well, the good people in Sacramento, were watching and now the Controller is Auditing the City of Bell and the Attorney General is investigating. You GO! Jerry Brown! hahahahahahaha
