Okay, here we go agai, another food recall. This time it is chicken nuggets and it is due to wood pieces found in the nuggets from not one but three manufacturing plants. WTF!!! This sounds like the work of a specific person causing the contamination rather than by accident. I normally am not a conspiracy theorists , however, there are far too many recalls going on with far too many products. Lettuce, strawberries, chicken and now frozen chicken nuggets. You do the math this is millions and millions of dollars of products being lost by these companies!!
Anyway, the pertinent info is Perdue simplysmart Organics breaded chicken breast nuggets. They were produced in Oct 2018, "best if used by" date of 10\25\2019. The UPC code is 72745-80656, and establishment number is P-33944. So if you have bags of these nuggets in your freezer either return them to the store where you bought them for a full refund or contact Perdue directly at 877-727-3447.
This is a class1 recall, which is the highest level recall. Too bad Perdue didn't state how the wood got into the nuggets to begin with nor what Perdue was doing to make sure this doesn't happen again! Once you lose confidence in a manufacturer they lose my business forever. That's what happened with Foster Farms fresh chicken, I believe it was in 2015-2016, when they had multiple recalls on chicken due to salmonella contamination and I completely stopped buying their products. And I will never go back to them!!! Sigh.
