Hawaii Becomes 15th State to Legalize Gay Marriage!

Yeah! 15 and counting! Hawaii has become the 15th US State to legalize gay marriage. The law signed today by Gov Neil Abercrombie. And it takes effect on Dec 2, 2013. However, the Hawaii state legislature also passed several amendments that I don't like and am kind of pissed off about. Some of these amendments exempt clergy from performing same sex weddings if they deem them against their religion. Also, vendors can refuse to hold same sex marriages or receptions and not be held liable for refusing those services. That is fucked up! Look, if you are a florist and someone wants to buy flowers from you, if you are smart you will sell them flowers regardless what they flowers are intended to be used for. DUH! You are in the business of selling flowers, right? Or if you are a baker, you are in the business of selling cakes, right? I think it is just stupid! and very bigoted that they would pass these lesser amendments. Looks like our work is not finished in Hawaii!
