Strawberry Sorbet....Yum Yum Good!!!

Hey this is my favorite time of year and I just really love all of the amazing fruit that we can get at this time of year. So if you are tired of eating fruit and want to try it in a different way or just want to try and beat the heat by having something cool and refreshing. Why not make it into a fruit sorbet. It is really simple. You will need 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of water place them into a sauce pan on medium heat. Stir. Once the sugar dissolves completely remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature. This is a simple syrup. If you are using strawberries ( about 1 1/2 cups), cut them in half or in quarters and place them into a blender or food processor add the simple syrup, add the juice of 1 lemon or about 3 tablespoons of lemon juice, blend mixture until smooth. Pour into a container and place it in the freezer. Or if you have an ice cream maker, place it in there and follow your manufacturers instructions. If you use your freezer, test it out in 2-4 hrs and see if it is solid enough for you. This is a great alternative to having Ice Cream on a hot day. Any fruit can be made into a sorbet except maybe banana. Mango, Peach, Nectarine, Watermelon, Honey Dew Melon, Pear, Apple, Orange....all of these are great choices. Good Luck and happy sorbet making to you.

Update!
1 cup of sugar is too much. I would cut the sugar by half and just use 1/2 cup in 1 cup of water.
