Concert Promoter Cancles All 5 Shows on Garth Brooks' Comeback Tour in Ireland

Country Singer Garth Brooks was scheduled to do a small come back tour with just 5 shows in Ireland at the famous Croke Park Stadium. However, after lots of media hoopla and some bickering with adding more dates Garth said it's is 5 shows or it's nothing. So the promoter cancelled the 5 shows. The stadium holds 82,000 seats and Garth sold a record 400,000 tickets for the shows, 70,000 of which were sold abroad from Ireland. Wow, I sure bet their economy could have used all of that revenue that the hotels, restaurants, taxis, car rentals, etc would have made. Hey Garth, why don't you do some dates here in Sac, we sure could use the revenue here. I wonder why Garth is making a comeback after 13 years of retirement? Maybe he is bored. I am sure he does not need the money. Garth has sold over 125 million cds and when he used to tour, it was often to sold out crowds. And I remember when he retired back in 2001, that he said he had more than enough money to last his family for the next 4 generations. No dollar figure was given at that time. Well, Garth, maybe you should book those dates somewhere else? How about London? or Paris? or Sacramento? LOL
