This is another one of those amazing stories about survival. Two men left Mexico in Sept 2012 heading for El Salvador in a 24 ft boat, something happens to the engine and they end up floating in the ocean for the next several months. The man, Jose Ivan claims that he and his companion survived on turtles, birds, fish and rain water. They would drink the blood of the turtles when they didn't have any rain water to drink. There wasn't any fishing equipment found on the boat, but there was a dead turtle on the boat when it ran aground. Jose had long hair and a long beard and he was only wearing some tattered underwear. He is not in good condition but is getting better thanks to the people in the Marshall Islands who have taken him in and are feeding him. Details are pretty sketchy as Jose only speaks Spanish and since his companion died a few months ago at sea, we cant get any details from him either..This sounds like makings of a good made for TV movie. hahahaha Hopefully, once Jose gets back to Mexico or to the main Island in the Marshall Islands then we will get more details from him. I cannot imagine 16 long months in a little boat in the giant Pacific Ocean!!! It's a miracle that Jose survived! If he hasn't bought a lottery ticket yet, he needs to run to nearest outlet and buy one. hahahaha
