Joe and Nicole Naugler want to live completely off the grid and decided to move their 10 kids to a shack made of tarps and metal panels. They have no running water, no septic system and no heat according to an anonymous complaint made to Kentucky PD. PD then referred the case to Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS), their division of Children and Family Services. Joe and Nicole's 10 children, ages 3 months to 15 yrs old also do not attend school, they unschool them. Which means "many things, but it usually a very child-directed form of education, with parents actively encouraging curiosity and related learning experiences”, according to Attorney T.J. Schmidt of the Home School Legal Defense Association.
Joe and Nicole deny all of the allegations, Joe claims that they have a wood stove for heat, an “open cabin” made of metal and tarps, a composting toilet, a pond with potable water, and a generator for power. They explain that they are naturopaths who would “seek professional medical care if it was needed,” and that they make an income from a pet grooming business. They describe their lifestyle as “intentional. Look I am all for living off of the grid and keeping expenses down, but you have to have the basics. This is 2015, not 1715. You need to have running water, a flushing toilet, reliable heat source, and an income to help provide all of that. Oh and you have to have a descent home not some shady shack made of tarps and metal panels. Basically, this family is homeless, jobless, toiletless, schoolless, and hopeless. So thank GOD! Kentucky CHFS stepped in and removed the children from this horrible situation. Oh! And Nicole is pregnant again expecting their 11 th child! I wonder if she knows what is causing her to get pregnant? Why do they keep breeding when they cannot afford to take care of the 10 kids they already have?!!!! As soon as she pops out #11, I hope CHFS takes that one away also. This is just so sad!!! Why do people think they can torture their children and the government is not gonna step in and do something about it? Yes, I said torture!!! Kids need to be able to get a glass of water out of the kitchen sink when they are thirsty, or make a sandwich, or have cookies and ice cold milk for a snack in the afternoon. When I was a kid, almost every day when we got home, my mom had fixed us a snack and had it waiting. Like fresh baked home made cookies, banana bread, or apple turnovers, my mom was an amazing cook and baker. Yum Yum. And the Nauger children deserve to have home cooked hot meals every day. Not canned tuna or dog food because that's all the family can afford. I think the parents are lazy good for nothing lowlifes. Joe needs to have a vasectomy and Nicole needs her tubes tied. They DO NOT NEED TO HAVE ANY MORE CHILDREN!!!!! If I were the Judge presiding over this case, that would be my order. hahahaha Okay!
