The Children of the Late Robin Williams Are Still Fighting With His Widow Over His Estate!!!

Okay this is a hot ass mess. And it is all Robin Williams fault. Robin had a will and in it he left most of his estate to his 3 grown children. However, he left the Tiburon home he shared with his current wife, Susan to her along with "enough money to maintain the home through her lifetime". And that right there is the crux of the problem. Since Robin didn't pick a set figure, his children are now at odds over how much is enough for her to maintain the home "through her lifetime"? I say give her $7 million with the caveat that when she dies, what ever money is left over is then returned to them.  Robin should have been more specific, his estate planner or attorney did a real piss poor job on this point. It's better to be specific than to be ambiguous when you are estate planning for your loved ones. It also helps to make sure that your wishes are carried out and not the wishes of the other heirs. Robin's children might not want their step mother to have any money at all or very little money and here is their chance to stick it to her. Thanks Robin. Sigh. Robin committed suicide back in August 2014. So sad.
So anyway, the children and Susan had been in mediation over this dollar amount and since they were unable to agree on a figure, now they have to go back to court and have a judge decide it.

Prior to this money issue, the children and Susan had been fighting over Robin's clothes and personal belongings. Susan felt that everything should be hers, since she is the widow. The children felt that they should be allowed to cherry pick items that they wanted. I sort of agree with both. I know when my dad died, I didn't get any mementos of him. I would have liked to have had his watch, his gun ( he had retired from being the Chief of Police at the Oakland Army Base and had been working as an armed security guard for United Airlines) and maybe his lodge hat. His lying mistress took all of that and more and I had to go to court get his house. But I won that case and I was able to evict that bitch right out of his house. hahahaha Good luck kids! And good luck to Susan, the widow! (I'm staying neutral. hahahaha) Death always seems to bring out the worst in people, when it comes to money and tangible property!!!
